Generous Sponsors help the Classic Thrive

Join us as we celebrate the 30th annual Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour on September 8, 2024. This beloved bike ride ~ one of the largest in Minnesota with more than 2,500 riders ~ explores all six of Saint Paul’s splendid regional parks on the historic Grand Round. The Classic is unique in many ways:
      • About half of all riders are women.
      • It’s a music festival on wheels with live music at every stop.
      • Riders experience the unique beauty of the emerald necklace of parkways circling the city.
      • Waterfront views and tasty treats at Lake Como and all three rest stops.

The Classic has a new home and it’s a fine fit. The Friends of the Parks and Trails of Saint Paul and Ramsey County ~ let’s just say the Friends ~ will present the 2024 Classic. Classic riders visit all six Saint Paul Regional Parks while touring the Grand Round. The Friends #1 mission is, “To promote public support and appreciation for parks.”

Founded by Peggy Lynch in 1985, the Friends began by stopping a high-rise development near Crosby Farm Regional Park. Their parks advocacy work has continued over the decades and includes forging city and county amendments ensuring no net loss of parklandThis is the gold standard in park and trail protection.

Friends of the Parks are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with federal tax ID 36-3362893.

Besides the usual advantages of sponsoring a terrific ride and supporting a worthy cause, the Classic has one great advantage over every other event. Como Lakeside Pavilion is the staging area where you can tout your organization, your company or your wares.

It’s a magnificent space overlooking the lake. Enjoy the Zacc Harris Trio and the Roe Family Singers plus fresh coffee, fruit and baked goods. Or step inside the Dock and Paddle Cafe for a full meal or a beer. Most important are all the connections you’ll make with enthusiastic cyclists.
